“Although the word zombie has been applied to different types of creatures, they generally share a few defining characteristics, perhaps most importantly a lack of free will.”

Welcome to the era of Post-Humanity

How the infection began remains a mystery, but historical documents attribute the plague as the catalyst that snowballed into civilization’s collapse. Symptoms were non-lethal in the beginning; fever, coughing, fatigue, some stomach pains. Then, when the hospitals became overcrowded with patients, the plague quickly jumped to doctors and nurses. By the end of the month, after thousands of people had been infected with no signs of remission, the news reported its first death. Within the next 48 hours, casualties were flooding the news cycle across the globe. Then, the dead reanimated.

Character Creation

Step 1: Undead Classification

On your character sheet, give your Undead a name, and select their Undead Classification. A character’s Undead Classification determines what kind of undead creature they are. Each Undead Classification comes with a bonus in a particular skill and also grants the Player Character a variety of Special Traits that they can utilise throughout the session.

Step 2: Assigning Attributes & Skills

A character’s Attributes represent their physical and mental abilities. Each creature in Undead Paradise has five Attributes that define them: Strength, Agility, Primal, Intelligence, and Charisma. The character’s Skills derive from these Attributes and represent a specific aspect or proficiency in a particular ability.

Step 3: Defining Memories

Once you have crafted the physical husk that your character will be piloting, it’s time to flesh out and define their Core Memories. In Undead Paradise, a character’s Memories shape their personality and influence their undead abilities.

Create two Core Memories that have shaped who your character is, categorising them into: Past and Loss. Each of these memories will be further broken down into their three key Elements.
